‘Zara Wood, aka Woody, is an enterprising and dynamic artist whose work defies definition whilst having huge illustrative impact. With a background in fine art she has a broad set of tools which she uses to work in diverse directions, overlapping between product design, fashion, textiles and graphics.’*
Brighton-based Woody produces art for the creative industries and public sector in Europe and Australia. Her Star Gaze collection for Topshop became their most successful artist range ever launched and her one-off pieces of wearable art framed within vintage jewellery - Little Treasures - are highly collectable. Woody produces her own range of products and regularly exhibits. Selected shows include her solo exhibition Mirror Mime at YSP and Pick Me Up at Somerset House.
A keen advocate of bringing professional skills to creative talent, Zara is the co-founder of The Enquiry Desk. She gives talks at public galleries, colleges and universities on professional practice. She has also designed and led workshops on creating characters and experimenting with mixed media.
